They have long been one of football's power couples. 
But now Wayne and have been named among the country's most influential people.
The couple - who have made headlines this week after it emerged player-turned-manager Wayne is close to signing a deal with a US football team - beat the likes of the Marquess of Bath and society heavyweight Lady Annabel Goldsmith, to claim second place on's Social Power Index 2022. 
The top spot is held by and the .  
The list is described by the magazine as a 'report into where the real power lies in British society'.
'True social power packs a fierce punch: nowness, cleverness, controversy and cachet,' explain the magazine's experts. 
'Imagine Lady Lola Bute shaking down billionaire mega-donor Jamie Reuben for a windfall for her charity, or Coleen Rooney spilling all to Amol Rajan about her Wagatha Christie woes, and you get the picture: a cosmopolitan cocktail of fun, fizz, danger and wit.'
As well as some familiar faces like fashion designer Erdem Moralioglu, one of the Duchess of Cambridge's favourites, and the Marquess and Marchioness of Bath, there are up-and-comers you need to know. 
DJ Cuppy and Temi Otedola, for example, are the daughters of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, who are forging their own careers in music, fashion and social media. 
The top 10 has been revealed on Tatler's website, with the full rundown available in the August issue of the magazine, available on newsstands now.
Here, FEMAIL shares the movers and shakers who are calling the shots... 
1. Prince Charles and The Duchess of Cornwall

It has been a bumper year for Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall who have stepped into the spotlight as the Queen continues to step back from royal duties. 
Charles, 73, was entrusted with delivering the Queen's speech at the State Opening of Parliament and led the Royal Family in a number of celebrations marking Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee.

By far the most surprising addition to Tatler's list are Wayne and Coleen Rooney, both 36. Experts at the magazine explain the couple made the cut following their 'stunning display' at the Wagatha Christie libel trial. 
'Wayne is England's record goal-scorer; Coleen's graced the pages of Vogue. But nothing has matched their dashing display in the riveting Wagatha Christie case,' the entry reads. 
'When the Rooneys are not sitting pretty in court, find them at their mansion in Cheshire. Dubbed a ‘mini Versailles', it features a cigar and whisky room and its own football pitch.'
Now the couple might be set for a move to the US, with manager Wayne reportedly in talks to be the new coach at DC United, the Major League Soccer team based in Washington DC. 
However it could be a lonely time in the US for the father-of-four if reports suggesting Coleen doesn't want to join him prove to be true. 
A source close to Coleen told MailOnline: 'She's made her views clear to Wayne. There's no way she will want to go to Washington. The last time, she absolutely hated it there.'

The couple recently hosted the spectacular wedding of Edward Enninful, Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue and Vogue's European Editorial Director, and Alec Maxwell, in their orangery. 
The ceremony was attended by a who's who of fashion including close friends Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss.  
Emma is often spotted sipping champagne at Annabel's with close friends Pixie Lott, or jetting off with Lady Kitty Spencer.
Another close friend appears on the Tatler power list: Jade Dunkerton, wife of Superdry founder Julian.

Her figure-flattering creations have been worn by everyone from Adriana Lima to Khloe Kardashian, and are distinguished by their daring cut-outs and sumptuous fabrics. 
Celia's career has already had several highpoints, including being one of the only non-French designers to present officially at Paris Couture Week and one of even fewer to be allowed to take over the British Museum for a fashion show.

Royal fashion darling Erdem Moralioglu is the founder of a brand by the Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Eugenie. 
He is also a favourite of the red carpet (once dominated only by French designers) and has dressed stars including Lily James, Jessica Chastain and Gillian Anderson. 
In just over a decade, he's conquered high society dressing. The royals are particular fans, as is former Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman, Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet and Sam Cam. 
Erdem, 45, was recently spotted at a Chatsworth House dinner with his architect husband, Philip Joseph, 43.  
8. Lady Annabel Goldsmith

Florence Otedola, 29, and her younger sister Temi, 26, are daughters of energy tycoon Femi Otedola, worth an estimated £650million in 2016.
He was listed as the 16th richest man in Africa by Forbes in 2015 and has million pound properties in New York, Dubai, London, Abuja and Lagos. 
UCL graduate Temi is a budding actress and social media star, while Florence, known as Cuppy, juggles a master's degree in African Studies at Oxford University with her budding career as a DJ.

The couple are close friends with Lady Kitty Spencer and Pixie Lott.
